About Play & Praise

Play & Praise is a weekly pickleball gathering organised by The Pickle Fellowship, created for Christians and seekers who want to connect through sport, faith, and genuine community.

The sessions are hosted at Play! Pickle’s Serangoon venue, a comfortable, air-conditioned indoor facility designed for social and beginner-friendly play.

Each session begins with a short time of worship and reflection, followed by pickleball open play in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Light coaching and guidance are provided for beginners, and no prior pickleball experience is required.

This is not a tournament or a church service. It is a community gathering built around movement, encouragement, and shared values.

About The Pickle Fellowship

By partnering with Play! Pickle as the host venue, The Pickle Fellowship is able to offer these gatherings in a neutral, high-quality sports environment that is welcoming to both Christians and seekers.

FAQ For Church Leaders & Ministry Teams

  • No. Play & Praise is not a church, and it is not a replacement for church. It is a community gathering organised by The Pickle Fellowship, designed to complement—not compete with—local churches.

Participants are encouraged to remain rooted in their own churches and faith communities.

  • Play & Praise is inter-denominational. The worship and reflections are intentionally kept simple, scripture-rooted, and non-denominational, focusing on encouragement, gratitude, and shared Christian values.

There is no promotion of any specific doctrine, denomination, or church.

  • The sessions are led by a Christian facilitator with experience conducting worship and faith-based gatherings.

The role of the facilitator is not to teach doctrine, but to create space for reflection, prayer, and encouragement in a way that is welcoming to both Christians and seekers.

  • No. There is no pressure to convert, commit, or participate beyond one’s comfort level.

Play & Praise is designed to be relational, not persuasive—offering a gentle, respectful environment where faith can be encountered naturally.

  • Play & Praise is best understood as a pre-evangelistic or relational space, rather than a discipleship programme.

It provides an accessible entry point for:

    • Christians to invite friends

    • Seekers to experience Christian community

    • Relationships to form organically

Any deeper discipleship is intentionally left to the local church.

  • No. There are no offerings or donations collected.

The $15 participation fee is purely to cover venue, equipment, and coaching costs, and is not framed as a religious contribution.

  • The Pickle Fellowship operates with clear values, transparency, and respect for the local church, and remains open to dialogue and accountability with church leaders who wish to understand or partner with the initiative.

  • Yes. Churches are welcome to:

    • Share the event with their congregations

    • Encourage members to attend as a fellowship or outreach activity

    • Attend together as a group

There is no expectation of exclusivity or ongoing commitment.

  • The long-term vision is to create healthy, sustainable spaces where sport, faith, and community intersect—always in a way that supports, not replaces, the role of the local church.
