What Your Child Will Do

Pickleball

Children will learn and play pickleball in a fun, beginner-friendly setting.

Sessions may include simple skill drills, games, teamwork activities and friendly match play. Pickleball is easy to pick up, social, active and great for building coordination, confidence and sportsmanship.

Chess

Chess gives children the chance to practise focus, patience and problem-solving.

Through guided play and friendly games, children will learn how to think ahead, make decisions and enjoy the process of learning.

Reading

Reading time gives children a calmer part of the day.

It encourages imagination, focus and quiet enjoyment away from screens. Children can enjoy books in a relaxed setting as part of the lunch and reading break.

Why This Camp Is Different

This camp is designed to feel balanced.

Children will have active time on court, thoughtful time over the chess board, and quiet time with books. It is a school holiday programme that supports the body, mind and imagination.

It is ideal for children who enjoy sports, games, books, puzzles or trying something new.

Full Day Programme

9 AM to 5.30 PM, lunch provided

The full day camp gives children a complete day of structured activities, with a good mix of active play, strategy games, reading and rest.

Children will begin the day with pickleball skills and games, followed by a chess session that encourages focus, patience and problem-solving.

After lunch, they will have reading time before returning to court for pickleball games and team activities. The day ends with another chess session before pick up.

Half Day Programme

9 AM to 12.30 PM, no lunch

The half day option is ideal for children who prefer a shorter programme or families who only need a morning camp.

Half day participants will join the morning activities, including pickleball skills and games, followed by a chess session.

Who This Camp Is For

This camp is suitable for children aged 6 to 12 years old who:

• enjoy trying new activities

• like sports, books, games or puzzles

• are new to pickleball or chess

• enjoy learning in a friendly group setting

• would benefit from a screen-free holiday activity

• enjoy both active play and quieter thinking activities

No prior pickleball experience is required.

What To Bring

Please bring:

• comfortable sports attire

• court shoes

• water bottle

• a book for reading time, if your child has one

• any medication or personal items your child may need

Pickleball equipment will be provided.

Lunch

Lunch is provided for children enrolled in the full day programme.

Lunch is not included for the half day programme, as pick up is at 12.30 PM.

Please inform us in advance if your child has any food allergies or dietary requirements.

Includes pickleball, chess, reading time and lunch.

Terms & Conditions

• No cancellation is allowed once booking is confirmed.

• Rescheduling to the next available camp date is only allowed with at least 24 hours’ notice.

• A $15 admin fee per child applies for approved rescheduling requests.

• Lunch is only provided for full day participants.

• Half day participants must be picked up at 12.30 PM.

• Full day participants must be picked up at 5.30 PM.

• A late pick-up charge of $20 per half hour per child applies for children picked up after the stated pick-up time.

• Parents or guardians acknowledge that participation in camp activities, including pickleball and other physical activities, involves some risk. By registering their child, parents or guardians agree that Play! Pickle, its staff, coaches and partners shall not be liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from participation in the camp.

• Play! Pickle reserves the right to adjust the programme flow where necessary for safety, group size or operational reasons.
