New to pickleball? This night is for you.
Ladies Beginner Night is a friendly, coach-guided pickleball session for women who are new to the game, still learning the basics, or not quite ready to jump into regular open play yet.
What happens during Ladies Beginner Night
This is not a competitive open play session.
It is a gentle introduction to pickleball in a ladies-only setting, with simple coaching, easy drills, guided rallies, and beginner-friendly games.
You’ll learn how to serve, return, rally, move around the court, keep score, and play simple doubles points.
How the session works
1. Welcome and warm-up
We’ll get everyone settled in, explain the format, and help you with equipment if you’re new.
2. Learn the basics
Our coaches will walk you through the key parts of the game, including grip, serving, returning, court position, and simple rallying.
3. Try easy drills
You’ll practise with other beginners in a calm, low-pressure setting.
4. Play guided mini games
Once everyone feels comfortable, we’ll move into short beginner-friendly games with coaches around to help.
5. End the night socially
After play, enjoy your free Somersby cider and hang around for a chat if you like.
Who this is for
This session is ideal for ladies who are:
New to pickleball
Curious but nervous to start
Coming alone and hoping to meet other women
Still learning the rules
Who this may not be for
This is probably not the right session if you already play regularly and want fast-paced competitive games.
For experienced players, our regular open play sessions will be a better fit.
What to bring
Wear comfortable sports attire and proper sports shoes.
You may bring a water bottle, but we also have drinks available at the venue.
No paddle needed. We’ve got you covered.
